Event coverage
The management of the GT&E is happy to provide you with coverage of different live steam events. Below, find our most current offerings:
National Summer Steamup — 2008:
Thursday, Friday, Saturday-Sunday
I took a lot more pictures at the Lions Gate in 2008 than I had before, which was a good thing, as the event’s official photographer, Mike Martin, was taken ill before he had a chance to make any pictures. Captions for these are coming soon (really).
National Summer Steamup — 2007
These are my pictures from the Sacramento summertime small-scale event. Focus, never one of my strengths, is erratic here because of a problem with the camera, not my eyes.
Diamondhead 2002: Part 1, Part 2, Part 3
My three-part series of photos from the steamup in Mississippi in 2002. Captions on the enlarged photos are currently broken; I hope to fix this soon.
GT&E Open House
Soon after building the deck where the GT&E would reside, we held a live steam open house, using the BAGRS portable track as a platform for trains. Here are some pictures made by me and others.
Diamondhead 2001
My pictures from the small-scale live steam up in Diamondhead, Miss. in 2001.
Diamondhead 2000
Every year in January, small-scale live steamers gather from all over the world to attend the International Smallscale Steamup in Diamondhead, Miss. Various correspondents submitted photos that documented the goings-on.
BAGRS 2000
The Bay Area Garden Railway Society had its annual meeting Jan. 8, 2000, and I made some pictures of the live steam contingent.
